The mission of the Griffin-Spalding County School System is to empower each student to graduate college and career ready.

The Federal Programs Department is responsible for administering, monitoring and providing technical assistance for Title programs under the Every Student Succeeds Act.

The purpose of federal education program funding under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is to provide LEAs and their schools with supplemental financial resources and assistance in order to ensure equitable access to a high-quality education, regardless of student economic status or other equity factors. Under a variety of recent state-granted flexibility structures (waivers), all Georgia school LEAs have the opportunity to pursue flexibility in exchange for agreeing to measures that will ensure that all students receive an equitable and high-quality education from effective educators. Federal program funds in Georgia supplement and support the programs and the strategies that help all students thrive through these existing LEA flexibility structures and systems.

Greetings GSCS Educators, Parents, and Community!

We are continuing to provide opportunities to gain input and feedback from our staff, parents, students, community and industry relative to the use of ARP-ESSER III funds.  These federal funds are designed to support school districts in their steps to safely reopen and keep schools open for in-person instruction and to address the disruptions to teaching and learning resulting from the pandemic. 

We are all in this together!  We are requesting your ongoing feedback and input as to how we should utilize our allocated funds to address the needs of students, school, and our district aligned to the purpose of the funding.  You will have opportunities throughout the year to share your feedback and input.
