On May 2, a meet and greet was held to introduce the new Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS) Executive Director of Student Support Services Dr. Christopher Ridley.

Dr. Ridley joins GSCS from Crawford County School District where he served as the Assistant Superintendent of Operations. Dr. Ridley has over 23 years of experience in education, of which 18 are specifically in educational leadership. 

Dr. Ridley earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University, his master's degree in Education at Cambridge College and his educational specialist and doctorate degree in Instructional Leadership from Argosy University.

Executive Director of Human Resources Judi Battle said, "Dr. Ridley brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our district. I look forward to seeing the impact he will make on our students and the greater academic community." 

Dr. Ridley was appointed the GSCS Executive Director of Student Support Services at the Griffin-Spalding Board of Education meeting held on April 11. He will officially begin his duties on June 1, 2023.
