NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The Griffin-Spalding County School System has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 4.45 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Griffin-Spalding County School System Boardroom, 216 South 6th Street, Griffin, GA on September 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Griffin-Spalding County School System Boardroom, 216 South 6th Street, Griffin, GA on September 24, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 16.742 mills, an increase of .713 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 16.029 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000.00 is approximately $28.52 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $125,000.00 is approximately $35.65.
