On March 7, the Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS) Reading Bowl brought together teams from all eleven elementary schools at the Griffin Regional College and Career Academy (GRCCA). Students showcased their knowledge of seven selected books from the TOME Student Literacy Society in a competitive, fast-paced event.
The Crescent Elementary team, led by Media Specialist Rhonda Grubb, took first place. Futral Road Elementary, led by Media Specialist Leslie Benefield, placed second and Jackson Road Elementary, led by Media Specialist Jennifer Harrison, secured third place.
GSCS Instructional Technology Coach and Event Organizer Tabatha Schwanbeck shared, “The reading bowl is more than a competition, it’s a celebration of the power of reading. I want to congratulate this year’s winners and applaud all participants! I also want to thank our Partner In Education American Pie Pizza for providing lunch and making the event even more special.”
