Aviation students with instructors

Griffin Region College & Career Academy (GRCCA) proudly announces a pioneering collaboration with Delta TechOps and Middle Georgia State University (MGA) to introduce an integrated Aviation Maintenance Program, offering students a seamless pathway to excel in the aviation industry. MGA is one of 54 schools, chosen nationwide, to partner with Delta Air Lines.

Building on this groundbreaking partnership, GRCCA students now have the unique opportunity to complete the general portion of the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) curriculum locally, followed by a smooth transition to MGA for the specialized Airframe and Powerplant curriculum and then apply to TechOps division at Delta.

Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS) Superintendent Dr. Keith Simmons expressed, “I am ecstatic about this partnership.”

"This partnership represents an exciting phase for our students by empowering them with a comprehensive educational experience in aviation maintenance," stated GRCCA CEO/Principal Chad Pruitt. "The ability for our students to complete the general portion of the A&P curriculum here at GRCCA and seamlessly transition to MGA is our primary goal and then over to the TechOps division at Delta after graduation from MGA. We are committed to providing a streamlined pathway to success in this thriving industry."

GSCS Deputy Superintendent Dr. Donald Warren said, “We’re all about providing our students with purposeful and engaging opportunities. This partnership facilitates a strong collaboration between academics and valuable work experiences that will support our graduating students who are truly college and career ready.”

The Aviation Maintenance Program combines the academic strengths of MGA with the industry expertise of Delta TechOps, offering students hands-on learning experiences, access to cutting-edge technology and access to seasoned professionals in the aviation sector.

"We are thrilled to be part of this innovative collaboration that opens doors for aspiring aviation professionals," said Delta TechOps Director of Engagement, Learning and Development Bill Smith. "This initiative not only bridges the gap between education and industry but also ensures that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for the demands of the aviation maintenance field."

The program's unique structure enables students to lay a solid foundation in the general A&P curriculum at GRCCA. Students will gain essential knowledge and skills before seamlessly transitioning to MGA to pursue the specialized Airframe and Powerplant curriculum.

"We are delighted to partner with GRCCA and Delta TechOps to offer a comprehensive pathway for students interested in aviation maintenance. This collaboration aligns with our commitment to providing students with exceptional educational opportunities and hands-on training that prepare them for successful careers in the aviation industry," remarked Middle Georgia State University School of Aviation Dean Adon Clark.

Through this innovative program, students will have the chance to engage with industry professionals, gain practical experience and acquire the necessary skills and certifications to thrive in the dynamic field of aviation maintenance.
